An overview for the people choosing recruiting and HR technology.
Before you compare vendors, name the problem, who owns the decision and what evidence would make a pilot worth continuing. Start with these questions, then investigate the answers with your team.
What work does this system need to do?
Ask vendors to demonstrate your actual workflow. Who uses it, what needs to connect, and what evidence supports the claims? A polished demo is not a test of your requirements.
What would make the investment worth continuing?
Agree on a baseline, costs, measures and a review date before the pilot. Compare what changed with what you expected, including extra work for recruiters and managers.
Who owns the pilot, adoption and exit?
Decide who tests the workflow, who trains the team, and who can stop the rollout. Ask how you retrieve your data and leave if the tool does not fit.
